Le’s Banh Mi Reviews

Best bahn mi in the Ala Moana area. The prices are a little bit expensive, but the bread and the amount of meat you get in the sandwich is great! The service is pretty quick, and they are located on the third floor of a little area filled with restaurants. Not much seating indoors (the place is very small) but some outdoor patio seating. I've gotten the pork, chicken, and their special all have been excellent. My husband and I frequent this shop too often!

Wow! After being let down by Bahn mi's lately this was an amazing turn around!! Way to go Le's!! We got 2 pork belly Bahn mi's and a lemongrass chicken Bahn mi and a Vietnamese coffee. $39. Each had a burst of fresh flavors. With unique and delicious flavors. They all had crispy bread and juicy meet and great tasting veggies. The lemongrass chicken was my favorite. Nice touch putting the sandwiches in labeled bags!!

12/28/24 @1240 Located on the 3rd Floor, you are greeted by a huge good luck bamboo plant. The place is small with a few inside tables and also available is outside tables. It's clean and bright. The menu has a few items which helps you to make a decision. Having only a few items, allows them to concentrate and focus what they do best which is of course Bahn Mi. I ordered the roast pork Bahn Mi and it was tasty. The bread was perfect. It was crunchy and not thick where it takes away from the fillings. The pork was cooked to perfection and the vegetables were fresh. It came out pretty quick after ordering and the presentation was on spot. You can tell they take pride in what they do. I will definitely be back! The only thing is the parking. It's either the valet or street parking. I guess you can go park at Walmart as well. Overall an excellent experience.

I went to Le's Banh Mi just today upon recommendation from my co-worker 2 years ago. Why did I wait so long?! The sandwiches are delicious! My kids came with me and the consensus was the bread was perfect -- good crunch but not too hard that your jaws hurt. Three of us ordered the Roasted Pork (I added pate') and 2 of us ordered the Saigon Special. Everyone was quiet and in a few minutes, there was nothing left. We liked it so much we ordered one more sandwich: the lemongrass mushroom. Delicious. Will definitely return!

They make a great Banh Mi. Found this place when I was getting a surgery done in Oahu down the street from the place I stayed at. I had been craving a Banh Mi so it was a great find.

Perfect sandwich. I always order the Saigon special. It's a sublime blend of textures and flavors. The bread is perfect, crunchy crust, but tender inside, just perfect for a banh mi. Filling on this sandwich is roast pork with head cheese (if you prefer more westernized filling, they have that too) with lightly pickled julienned vegetable and crunchy romaine lettuce. The balance - crunchy, soft, sweet, sour, fatty, lean - it's just PERFECT. I've eaten here several times since they opened. We come back to Honolulu every year and this is always on the itinerary. Don't miss the Vietnamese Ice Coffee. It's a takeout place with a few tables outside on a nice covered deck (one or two tables inside). I have never had a better sandwich.

One of those days where I was craving a special banh mi sandwich and ended up on Sheridan st. This place is cranking out delicious banh mi sandwiches, of all variety, but like any purist, I go ahead and get the Saigon special with an ice coffee (combo 1.) Amazingly fresh/soft bread with a crusty exterior, that pate is certainly homemade and delicious, just the right amount of veggies, meats and sweet mayo. Customer service here is kind and ran out my food to outside where we were having a small lunch. Delicious ice coffee with enough condensed milk; have to remind myself to get the coconut coffee next time. This place is on the third floor of a building complex, next to all kinds of other businesses, good place to explore and support local shops. Beware though, parking is horrid here, and not too many trash receptacles, but Le's was worth the small hassle of parking down the street. Le's is cozy. Line moves quick and all menu boards appropriately in eye view. Next time we will be extra classy and valet park the whip.

It's been a long time since I came back to le's banh mi. I've been to several other ones here and there but none compares to le's. It's something about their bread that is so magical! I'm quite the picky eater especially when it comes to Vietnamese food - but this shop is by far the best on the island. They are located on the 3rd floor in the 808 center which is next to the Walmart in town so you know the parking is kinda tricky especially when you don't want to valet your car. But! If you go on a Sunday you can park on the street and it's a short walk over. Most of the sandwiches cost about $10 average which seems to be the going rate right now. I've tried the Saigon special, roast pork, and the Vietnamese coffee and it surely did not disappoint. It seems like their hours aren't as long as before, but they seem to be open most days and quite early. Their store is small but it's bright and very clean. They surely try their best with how busy they are and with the staffing they have. They have indoor and outdoor seating available - most people tend to sit outside. It did get kind of crowded inside tho as they have rushes here and there for lunch.

[Location] Le's Banh Mi is located on the third floor of 808 Sheridan Center near Walmart. Self-parking is not an option. Valet parking is available. [Service] I called ahead to order two combo 1's. The woman who answered the phone, who I suspect is the owner, was very efficient and kind. I can tell the staff work hard. [Food and Drink] The bread for the sandwiches is pleasantly crisp, yet soft. Each bite is layered with perfectly-seasoned meat, pickled carrots and daikon, fresh jalapeño and cucumber as well fragrant cilantro. Delicious. Absolutely exceptional banh mi. The Vietnamese iced coffee was good too, not too sweet or strong. I wonder if they actually French press fresh espresso or use instant. FYI-They have non-meat options! [Ambiance] The space itself is very clean and simple. Some seating available inside as well as outside. I believe most people order for to-go. Highly recommend this place! Support local!
